I'd like to know if anyone is interested in a roadtrip to some place other than Michaux for a three or four hour bike ride? It could be for the morning or afternoon depending on where we choose. If we can discuss locations, dates and skill level we can then post something more official on the blog.
Any suggestions? I suggest drive time no longer than two hours one way.
This is Cowans Gap. They deter biking by only having one trail that climbs forever. Could be fun on the way down.
NMBA in state college looks like it might have some nice trail opportunities. I put a link below. If you look at their pics, they show some serious rocks gardens and lots of people wearing full face helmets.

ReplyDeleteI'm interested!
ReplyDeleteThe Tuscarora trail goes through Cowan's Gap. Very little used but very long. Goes down into Maryland. I've wondered about biking some of that more than once.
ReplyDeleteCowans Gap is a state park, so mtn biking is illegal on trails unless a posted sign specifically says otherwise.
ReplyDeletethe Blue -Tuscarora Trail is also illegal, but often poached. I've tried some segments near Cowans and south of Route 16.
I still want to go to Raystown.
